Absolutely GREAT knife for the price!

Absolutely GREAT knife for the price!
Okay so I've had this blade for about 3+ years now. I bought it somewhere else but I found it here new so I thought it appropriate to give my thoughts on it after some wearing on it and experience.Right now this knife is discounted and available for 12.99 which is GREAT! For the price you're getting a Smith and Wesson quality bang for your buck so you don't have to commit 300.00 for the just about the same quality youd get somewhere else. So that alone should entice you to give it a shot.As far personal wear and tear... It still holds strong after years of pretty much daily use. I've used this for everything because I don't believe in safety blades lol Now it's got some scuffing, it's got a tiny chip (please refer to the images above) but honestly I've gone out of my way to attempt to puncture everything from aluminum, and even sheet metal to see how it holds up and I gotta say... With the right angle and technique and the right amount of force, you could punch right through bare metal and the blade will hold up.It's still sharp and strong.I've sharpened this blade on my own to low effect, unfortunately this blade requires the hands of a professional and someone who knows what they're doing to keep the point and sharpness on this blade. So I don't recommend sharpening this on your own without the right equipment. The point or tip of the blade is decent. Only slightly worn down since purchase so I wouldn't worry to much about dulling it from regular use.I have a bad habit of playing with my personal blades so truth be told, I've probably gummed up the folding and unfolding hinge a bit. Its not as smooth as it was before but I think if you lube it up with some degreaser it'll be like new. I don't think the mechanism can be worned down until it doesn't lock anymore. I've probably opened and closed this blade well over 3000 times now and it still locks perfectly, just difficult to open with the flare and swish of the hand which is what I do to open it.The handle is still in great shape as it's made to last. It's held its shape and has ZERO damage. It forms to my hand perfectly and the ergonomic shape fits exactly to my hand. Though I have somewhat of "musicians hands" my hand shape is defined so it might be cumbersome or uncomfortable for older gentleman with stronger and thicker labor man's hands.Besides everything, this is a more than decent blade that'll last you a good 5+ years at LEAST and won't break the wallet. The blade shape is awesome as well with a clip shape so that's a plus, great for penetration and slashing all the same. I've taken this blade just about everywhere and it's held up this long. I've lost it frozen in the snow, taken it underwater, left it in the hot sun, dropped it from a 4 story building etc and everything and it's still my daily routine to clip it on my work belt because it's held up this long. This blade is perfect for a gift and first time utility tactical folding knife that's LEGAL and easy to carry and use. I'm no expert, but I thoroughly recommend it.

I bought this because I have gotten to the point in age and life where I can stand having to make constant back-tracks to go find something to cut something else with. I never carried a knife before, so it's still something I get used to sliding into a pocket before I get my day started. This knife is a great starter knife because it's not difficult to carry in a pants pocket, it's really sharp and it locks tight. It's come in handy already in the short time I've been carrying it and saved me countless trips to go find a razor blade or scissors to cut packaging or to strip wires. I'm very happy with the quality of product I've gotten for the low price paid. I see myself using the serrated edge to trim small branches and such while we are out walking in nature.

Durable, looks cool, stays sharp. I do find it difficult to open the knife. However it is slowly getting easier to open it with time. I think the knife needs to be broken in for lack of a better word. I like it. Might buy as gifts for some people I know. I recommend.

It's a nice folding knife came sharp as a razor. I like the serrations on the back half of blade, it will cut rope much better than a straight knife.
The blade is a bit hard to open with one hand but it can be done. It is for this reason I gave it only 4 stars. The attached belt clip can be removed for pocket carrying. It's a solid little knife that should hold up well under light to medium duty use. I wouldn't buy it again as I really think it could have been built to open much easier. But it's under $20. So it is what it is.

I needed to replace my little Schrade serrated knife, but I wanted something a little bigger. I purchased this off the recommendation of a colleague who already owns one, and I must say his recommendation is spot on. This thing is sharp. I usually do the "shave" test whenever I get a knife to get an idea of how good the blade is. Essentially, I'll take different parts of the blade and see if it will shave the hair on my hands/wrist, as well as how it slides through a piece of paper. Every inch of the blade cut smoothly.

The weight of the knife feels balanced, and the grip is comfortable, even though sides of the knife are smooth. There are "knots" on both sides of the thumb opening so whichever hand you're comfortable with you can open with your thumb. However, you'll want to take your time as it does require a little bit of pressure if you're opening with one hand.

The lock of the knife doesn't appear to be thick, but it's fairly solid/sturdy, and therefore I don't have concerns that the blade would fall back on me when full extended. Lasty, it does have a belt clip that is farily tight and firm. I've not put it on my belt, but I do carry it clipped inside my pocket, and running around with it I can share that it's stayed put.

Overall, it's a great knife, looks really good (as I'm a fan of the smooth/serrated blade style), feels good to wield, and does a great job cutting, shaving, you name it.

The sleek design and sturdy construction make it a reliable companion for various tasks, from cutting boxes to outdoor adventures. The blade is sharp and easy to deploy with one hand, thanks to the assisted opening mechanism, which adds to its practicality. The textured handle provides a secure grip, even in wet conditions, giving me confidence in its handling. Whether I'm camping, hiking, or simply tackling daily chores, this folding knife proves to be a versatile tool that I can depend on. I highly recommend the Smith & Wesson Extreme Ops Folding Knife to anyone in need of a trustworthy and practical EDC knife.

Veio bem afiado. É bem discreto. Poderia ter a função quebrar vidro, porém, mesmo assim vale a pena a aquisição. A Borba serrilhada é ótima para cortar cinto.
