Easy and painless
I needed two tries, but it was easy enough. The immediate pain was comparable to pulling out a small clump of body hair. The staple removal was slightly more painful. The residual pain took about 30 minutes to pass. I wasn't expecting the staple to be raised above the skin, but that seems to be normal. I think I will keep a bandaid over it to reduce the risk of catching the staple on something then tearing it out prematurely.Update: Only a faint scar but there is a dipple in the skin from subcutaneous scar tissue from the stab wound. Totally satisfied with the results. Would staple myself again. Not intimidating at all. Definitely don't feel bad for your dog.
